ABOUT ME
I'm Cathy MacKechnie, wife, mom and teacher-librarian at an est. 1922 neighbourhood high school in Ottawa, ON, Canada. I am curious and love trying new things - blogging is a first for me. I'm so happy to jump right in and give it a go. I spend most of my days teaching in a library and then end every evening reading to my own children. I am surrounded by books and all things literary. I have had the most amazing conversations with my children and my students about great books and cool authors. My current obsessions are: Kwame Alexander, Gene Luen Yang, Nicola Yoon, Drew Hayden Taylor and Jason Reynolds. I guess diversity in books is something I am being drawn to right now- looking forward to another great year of getting lost and learning from books.
